Peer Services

Peer Services at the Ernest E. Kennedy Center are delivered by trained Peer Support Specialists who bring lived experience of substance use and recovery into the healing process. These specialists provide compassionate, non-judgmental guidance to individuals navigating recovery, offering hope, accountability, and practical support.

Peer Support Specialists connect with clients through one-on-one sessions, group support, and community outreach, fostering trust and reducing the stigma often associated with substance use. They play a vital role in bridging the gap between clients and professional treatment, helping individuals stay engaged in recovery services and connected to wraparound supports such as housing, employment, and healthcare. Peer Specialists also accompany clients through critical transitions, such as after an overdose, during court or legal involvement, or when entering treatment, ensuring they are not alone on their journey.

Peer Services embody the philosophy that recovery is possible and sustainable when supported by community, connection, and lived experience.
