Berkeley County Prevention Board (BCPB)

Berkeley County Prevention Board (BCPB) was created in 1989 by the Ernest E. Kennedy Center with the assistance of 12 individuals representing various agencies and communities in Berkeley County. The BCPB, composed of concerned citizens, from the public and private sectors, is dedicated to promoting safe and healthy, drug-free communities through awareness, education and family-oriented activities designed to enhance the quality of life in Berkeley County.

Berkeley Education Youth Advisory Team (BEAT)

Berkeley Education Youth Advisory Team (BEAT) is a youth group made up of students from Berkeley County middle and high schools. BEAT’s mission is to support the efforts of the Berkeley County Prevention Board, by building positive peer relationships to help reduce youth substance use. 

RU21

The RU21 Underage Alcohol Team focuses on underage alcohol sales, violations and parties. The subcommittee is sponsored by the Drug Free Communities grant and provides resources for media awareness and the anonymous underage alcohol Tip Line, which is 800-899-RU21.

SPARx

SPARx focuses on the prevention of overdoses, the safe storage and safe disposal of medications, and the risk of taking prescriptions not prescribed to you.  This subcommittee is sponsored by the Partnership for Success grant and provides training for its members and resources for media awareness to the entire Berkeley County Community.
